Craptoon Network #1 - Pet Sitter Pat (SpongeBob)

So, I have been posting reviews on Anime Superhero since 10th of January. Many people, myself  included, thought that my Awful Animation reviews were too similar to Mr Enter's work. Because of that, I decided to move my reviews to Blogger and I came up with a new, original approach. Also, I will only re-review Get the Hock Out, One Coarse Meal and Exodus (don't worry, the Thundercats Roar version) Let's get to the review.

You don't need a lot of time to ruin a beloved character. Usually it takes aroud 3 22-minute episodes to do it. Here, we have an episode that did it in 11 minutes. I wasn't expecting that, but if seasons 6-8 of Spongebob taught me something, it's that it could always get worse. By the way, this episode is one of the worst things that I've EVER SEEN. But don't worry, I will expand upon it in a few moments.

Problem No. 1 - It's pure animal cruelty

I think that this insult is worse than A Pal for Gary and One Coarse Meal combined. Let's start with the fact, that this episode has double the animal cruelty. The insult starts with Patrick dropping Gary. Then it shows Gary not getting any food, Patrick giving him salt (which melts snails) and nearly killing him with a flamethrower. And after watching The Card, I know it was all on purpose. But with this outta the way, let's get to Patrick. Oh boy, Patrick....

Problem No. 2 - Patrick himself

When I watched SpongeBob as a kid, my favoirite character was Patrick Star. Seeing what he has become makes me sad. After this episode, I could only see a gleeful monster. First of all, he almost kills Gary on multiple occasions. If the first thing a petsitter does is dropping the pet, saying that they're not the best people for the job is saying nothing. When Gary doesn't want to take a bath, Patrick chases him with a FLAMETHROWER. When Gary wants to eat some snail food, Patrick eats it in front of him. Not only Patrick tortures the snail, but also floods the house. In the end, Spongebob sees Gary reading a book to Patrick and thinks it's all fine and dandy. Also, why didn't Spongebob ask Sandy for help? She likes SpongeBob and has a MORALITY. Yeah, it shouldn't be a reason to hire a petsitter, but after this episode, I would hire ten petsitters with a morality.

Verdict

This is one of the worst things that Nickelodeon has ever aired. You really have to try to make something this awful. Fun fact: the writer Zeus Cervas has written Ren Seeks Help. I would say something funny, but I'm shocked that they allowed him to write an episode of a kids cartoon.
